Exhibitions at the BIOSPHAERENBAND Schaalsee-Elbe
The BIOSPHAERENBAND Schaalsee-Elbe connects the two UNESCO Biosphere Reserves 'Schaalsee' and 'Elbe River Landscape Mecklenburg-Vorpommern' - along the former inner-German border between the Baltic Sea and the Elbe: a space for nature, peace and recreation.
In four information exhibitions in Schlagsdorf, Zarrentin am Schaalsee, Boizenburg/Elbe and Dömitz you can learn about nature, history and tourism in the region.
We look forward to your visit!
GRENZHUS in Schlagsdorf
The information centre is the largest and most important museum facility commemorating the inner-German border in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Experience different "border areas" along the former German-German border between the Baltic Sea and the Elbe. An outdoor trail takes you directly to the border and impressively explains the construction of the border fortifications and how this "Iron Curtain" was dealt with.
