Partner-Network 'For Body and Soul'

The common objective of the Biosphere Reserve partners is to preserve the beauty, biodiversity and value of the Schaalsee landscape and at the same time to enable residents and guests to experience it.

The partners feel particularly connected to the landscape, environment and nature of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Schaalsee and its people. Through their environmentally friendly way of conducting business, they contribute to preserving the natural wealth for us and future generations.

Their products and services stand for:

► quality ► environmental friendliness ► regionality.

The network of the regional brand "Biosphärenreservat Schaalsee - Für Leib und Seele" (Biosphere Reserve Schaalsee - For Body and Soul) has been a member of the Germany-wide partner initiative of the National Natural Landscapes since 2012. These include the national parks, biosphere reserves and nature parks in Germany.

Common quality and environmental standards ensure a uniformly high level throughout Germany for each participating partner business.

The regional brand 'Biosphärenreservat Schaalsee - Für Leib und Seele' (Biosphere Reserve Schaalsee - For Body and Soul) is awarded in an award region that is larger than the biosphere reserve.

Certification is based on quality and environmental criteria for various sectors.
After two years, a review is carried out by a regional jury, the award council.

The Award Council, consisting of representatives of the region, decides on the initial certification as well as the re-certifications. It is also involved in the further development of the award criteria.
